Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of using acellular dermal matrices in the cutaneous regeneration of diabetic foot ulcers. Method: A systematic review conducted in the PubMed database, considering publications from the last ten years, available in full text and classified as clinical or observational studies. Articles comparing the use of acellular dermal matrices with conventional treatment were included. Results: Six studies met the inclusion criteria. The use of matrices was associated with higher rates of complete healing, ranging from 44% to 83%, reduced wound closure time, and improved tissue quality, with evidence of increased collagen deposition and angiogenesis. No serious adverse events were reported. Conclusion: Acellular dermal matrices are effective and safe as adjuvants in the treatment of diabetic ulcers, promoting faster and higher-quality skin regeneration.
